When I was in high school or something—before I’d really read much Didion, but after I’d read ‘Why I Write’ which was assigned in eleventh grade and then we all had to write imitations, and incidentally I’d give anything to get my hands on a copy of that—I remember seeing a page in InStyle (maybe Vogue, but probably InStyle) about How To Dress Like Joan Didion. At the time I was just excited to know who they were talking about, but now I wonder why the fuck they were talking about her. So that’s something else I’d really like to see a copy of. I’m pretty sure this wasn’t just a dream I had, but I can never be sure.
